About Us
We are a small, family-owned flock in Fruitvale, CO. Our hens are treated like family and raised with care.
Our flock of 7 laying hens (soon to be 13!) is a mix of different breeds, offering a variety of egg shell colors, and the eggs are collected daily. We also have 2 retired hens, and 1 rooster, in the flock who simply enjoy living their best lives.
We supplement our flock with herbs and all-natural products to help keep them happy and healthy, internally and externally. We never use chemicals in, or around, our chickens so they never have adverse reactions or egg withdrawal periods.
We do not make our hens lay year-round so they get a natural break in the winter, further ensuring their health and happiness.
Meet The Owners
Tia and Tarl Bond
We met in 2017 and married in 2019. We decided to start our family flock in 2018. Caring for our ladies has been a remarkably rewarding experience. We enjoy their individual personalities; the fresh eggs are just a bonus!
As their “mother hen”, my favorite pastime is sitting in the yard just watching them enjoy being their chicken-selves.
We also have two wonderful dogs who enjoy hiking in the beautiful mountains that surround our valley, as well as helping to protect our flock from any predators that may wander into our yard.
Our Furry Family
Hicup
He is a senior mix breed rescue.
He has been by my side since 2013, when he was 4 months old.
Hicup used to enjoy long, vigorous runs and hikes in his younger years but now enjoys casual hikes and laying in the sun. He has always been a gentleman when it comes to our hens, even when they were just day old chicks.
He is a very friendly gentleman.
Hoots
He is a Rottweiler rescue.
Hoots joined our family in 2017, when he was also 4 months old.
He enjoys playing and going for family hikes. Hoots has done intermediate obedience training and loves showing off his tricks.
He is a gentle, loving boy with anyone and any creature he meets.
